I came to the Mountain....I went up & then I went down...

My dad asked me back in April if I would go and hike Mt. Rainer with him. I said, Yep!
I didn't know what to expect and I tried not to really have any expectations because I have learned that just gets you in trouble...
So when my dad came to pick me up at 5:30am to head to the Mt. I was ready to go for a hike..
When we got there...we got all dressed up in hiker gear gotta look the part :0) and we were off..
Now as soon as we start our climb up the Mt. I was in shock...was it going to be this hard the whole way? OH yes even harder..
My Dad & I talked about life and about the past...we had silence times of just focusing on trudging up & up.
I got emotionally thinking about how fast times goes and how special my Dad is...and how amazing it was that I got this time with him.

As I continued up this Mt. I struggled with myself...
I would tell myself..
God made this mountain
God made me
I can make it...

It was weird but I started to feel closer to God
Maybe it was fact that your up 8,000...then 9,000 then 10,000 ft. but I don't know
The beautiful of his creation all around me...the ability he gave me to move & breathe..

As we reached  Camp Muir...
I stood there in awe..
An achievement yes of coarse but also a reflection on how much God gives us each day that we take for granted or don't appreciate. How much we worry or care about things that don't matter...
Because when you look at on the sky above, the clouds...the amazing scenery how can you not be awe of God...or Life!
Moments matter...take advantage of the time you have especially with the people you love.

The awesome thing is about going up a Mt.
Although its hard and at times you want to give up...
Once you reach your destination then you get to head down the Mt.

We starting down and it was so much fun...I felt giddy almost!
We could slide down parts and it was just amazing how much easier it was going down...a relief!
We made it up & down in 7.5hrs.
We were exhausted, luckily we had a hotel room and we got to go enjoy a wonderful dinner & cool story about the history of Mt. Rainer then have a much need good night sleep.
The Next Morning....we had planned to do another hike but we decided to just walk around the lodge &  head back early.

It was an incredible journey...and I am thankful for every min. of it!
